This kitchen island was designed to meet more needs than the average island and in more locations on your property. It has also been built for durability and to be virtually maintenance free. These islands are not mass produced in China, but each unit is put together here in our shop, designed specifically to: Augment available counter top / preparation space in your kitchen and on your deck or patio. Provide additional mobile storage. Operates as a mobile preparation and serving platform. Offers a 15” x 17.5” x 5” hidden, sealed, and watertight stainless steel tub that can hold approximately 49 soda cans and ice. The 20” x 34” x 1.75” chopping block top slides in a hidden and locked track to provide access to the storage tub while preventing the top from sliding out or falling off. Houses two stainless steel draws for additional storage or serves as a transfer containers for taking cut veggies and the like to the stove. Employs 4, 5 inch swiveling and locking industrial casters, rated to support 250 pounds each, with non-marring soft tires for easy maneuvering, firm locking, and smooth rolling, even across planks in the deck. This island also offers stainless steel towel hangers on both sides. The channel that you see encompassing the chopping block on three side is 1/4 inch stainless steel. The primary uprights are carbon steel and are purposely not painted. They are however sanded and oiled to give a very unique look and strong contrast to the stainless components. But, all of the steel surfaces can also be final finish with paint, or as a custom option, all steel components could be made with stainless steel instead. The wood making up the lower shelf is currently untreated, allowing for custom stain to match your existing kitchen colors.
